Delicious salmon tartare recipe with EVOO

Ingredients

  • 250 g of fresh salmon  
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Chopped pistachios
  • Lemon juice
  • Pepper
  • Salt

 

Note:  it is essential that the raw fish (the salmon) has been on the freezer at -20ºC for more than 24 hours and then thawed properly.

Preparation

  1. Take the filleted salmon and remove the skin with a knife.
  2. Cut the fish piece into small cubes.
  3. Be sure to remove all the fishbones.
  4. Place the small cubes into a bowl.
  5. Add salt and pepper and mix well.
  6. When it is all mixed, add the lemon juice, the pistachios and the EVOO.
  7. Mix well all the ingredients of the mixture.

Plating

With the plating of this delicious recipe for salmon tartare with EVOO you can feel free and experiment. However, we propose a simple and aesthetically attractive way:

  1. Pour the mixture into a mold or a glass and press it well with a spoon.
  2. Invert the glass in the center of a flat plate.
  3. Add a handful of chopped pistachios and garnish with chives or parsley leaves.
  4. Remove the mold or glass.

And there you have your tartare ready!

Tips

Since it’s raw fish, there are some recommendations to consider when consuming it. For example, it should be eaten as soon as it’s prepared and not wait for more than two hours.

In addition, you can combine this recipe with fruits such as avocado, mango, or even orange. This will give it a fresher and sweeter touch.

You can also substitute lemon juice with lime juice or even vinegar. Variety is the spice of life!

However, the most important thing is to make sure you use high-quality olive oil or you risk ruining the recipe.
